Italian Fashion brand Benetton have been causing quite a stir of late. It’s actually got nothing to do with their latest clothing range but more their allegiances with certain charity foundations. In this particular case the UnHate Foundation.
The latest campaign certainly has shock and awe tactics set to maximum as we see the worlds leaders and most powerful people puckering up for a smooch. The campaign has definitely ruffled a few feathers, particularly the image of Pope embracing Ahmed Mohamed el-Tayeb. Personally, we don’t see what all the fuss is about, if the Pope wants to kiss another man go for it. Next thing you know he’ll be off down Old Compton Street in London for a good old sword crossing session. Let him have some fun!
It’s a great campaign and a even better message: Love not Hate. Everyone could take a thing or two from that. Plus i’m sure Benetton’s pockets will be slightly better lined. These marketing people a clever, real clever!
